Obituary

Michael Todd Pate, Sr.
February 20, 1963 – April 5, 2019

Michael Todd Pate, Sr., 56, of Salem, Va. passed away on Friday, April 5, 2019 at his residence surrounded by his family.

He was born on Wednesday, February 20, 1963 in Roanoke, Va. to the late Ernest Jackson and Barbara Jean Brown Pate. Michael faithfully spent the last 25 years of his life working for A.H. Harris & Sons Construction Supply located in Roanoke, Va. When he wasn’t at work, you may find him doing a little fishing, spending time with family, or taking care of a little yard work; all of which he thoroughly enjoyed! Michael also had a unique connection with his jeep, but his family was most important to him. He especially enjoyed time with his grandson Landon! Landon was certainly the apple of his eye.

Family remaining to cherish his memory includes his wife of 28 years, Katherine K. Pate; son, Michael Todd Pate, Jr.; grandson, Landon Jackson Pate, all of Salem; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

To honor Michael’s wishes, all services will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Michaels honor to the American Cancer Society; P.O. Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123, or by visiting https://www.cancer.org/involved/donate/memorial-giving.html.

Katherine, the time we spent together at Dominion Bank lulled me into a loving and caring respect for you and your family. This is why I was very sad to learn about the passing of your husband Michael. It is my prayer that you get through this time triumphantly with your loved ones by your side. Take care of yourself and always remember that I love you and God loves you too.

I am so sorry for your loss Katherine. I will be praying for you and your family. May God hold you and your family in his loving arms. I remember when you and I were expecting about the same time. You had a Michael Todd and I had a son Todd. Working with Mitzi and John in investment banking. I cant believe that it was so long ago, but seems like it was just yesterday. I pray for you and your family for strength to get you through.

So sorry of your loss. Even though we didn't visit much, always enjoyed seeing him at the "Brown" get togethers, alone with his funny ,special Mom. May God bless all of you and family and share the good memories together. With love and sympathy, Don and Charlotte Yeatts
