Obituary for Julie Mae White (Doss)
Julie Mae Doss White, 71, of Salem, Virginia, went to be with the Lord, on Thursday, November 21, 2019, at Lewis-Gale Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family.
Julie was the kind of person that would make you smile or laugh, just by being in her presence. She was known as the comedian of the family and would make you laugh at the drop of a hat. A free-spirited soul, who walked to the beat of her own drum, who would go out of her way to help those in need even if it meant she went without. She lived her life without judgment towards others and had unconditional love for all people. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her father, Calvin Lee Doss.
Left to cherish her memory is her mother, Dorothy Mae Doss; children, Laura St. Clair, Suzanne White, Heather White Alderman, Travis White, and Sean White (Amanda); siblings, Robin and Alan Doss; also left to cherish her memory are her grandchildren, Mandi Seale, Taylor St. Clair, Kariana Moore, Cody Moore, Desiree White, and Ashley White.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 26, 2019, from 12–2:00 p.m., in the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral home Chapel, 305 Roanoke Blvd. Salem, Virginia, 24153. A funeral service will also be held on Tuesday, November 26, 2019, at 2:00 p.m., in the John M. Oakey & Son Chapel. She will be laid to rest at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens immediately following the service.
