I was sorry to hear of Walt's death. I also finished the oral & maxillofacial surgery residency at VCU in 1979, and Walter helped me in establishing my practice here in South Boston, VA. I came to Roanoke on several occasions to do surgery with Bruce and Walt, and I always enjoyed seeing him at state and national meetings. He was an excellent surgeon and friend--I will miss him. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family!

Walt was a dear friend who shared with me many pieces of advice about life and raising a family. As part of our "executive work-out" brigade at the RAC, we discussed and debated the big issues of the day and had all the world's problems solved. We will miss his candor and spirit but are better people for having spent time with him. - Bryce and Cindy Hunter
